Introduction

EFACS E/8 Business Intelligence is a sophisticated module for the collection, integration, analysis and presentation of EFACS business information. It provides an advanced and highly flexible tool to process large volumes of information, thus allowing decision makers to exert efficient and effective control of their business.

Businesses generate huge quantities of data every day. A fully integrated ERP system gathers and maintains this information and ensures that it is available to everyone within the business. How this information is analysed and distributed is key to how efficiently the organisation can operate. The EFACS Business Intelligence module provides two distinct, but connected modes of operation.

Business Intelligence Analysis allows for the analysis of historical information and trends. By allowing companies to distil vast amounts of information into a small number of metrics and overview measures, it can be compared against key business targets and historical comparative data. In this way strategic business decisions can be made to move the business forward.

Business Intelligence real-time is used for dynamically measuring and monitoring the business so that if a problem arises or a key activity has not occurred, then the appropriate people within the organisation are alerted. If this can happen in a timely manner then situations can be rectified before they escalate.

EFACS Business Intelligence provides a series of key intuitive reports which process and manipulate critical data, thus allowing individuals to make more informed decisions.

Business Analysis

Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) defines the process of easily and selectively extracting and viewing data. EFACS Business Intelligence comes with a number of pre-defined OLAP data cubes, which are generated from the EFACS database at intervals as required.

These give a summarised “snapshot” of the company’s data at any point in time.

Slicing and Dicing this data is a term given to the process of expanding and grouping data at the click of a mouse. The Sales Department for example, can group and dissect data at many different levels, analysing sales by customer, sales person, region, product or product group.

In order to plan for the future a company needs to be making decisions based on accurate data. However, the data may be accurate, but if it is difficult and time consuming to analyse then mistakes will be made and time will be lost.

By automatically gathering and consolidating information, then presenting that information in an easy to read graphical manner, the EFACS Business Intelligence system allows better informed decisions to be made faster.

Dynamic Monitoring

The EFACS Business Intelligence Real-time functionality provides a high impact, easy to read, dynamic view of business conditions which show if the business is meeting key measurable targets.

The management of a company can be provided with a series of Key Performance Indicators (KPls). These KPls are presented to the user as a dashboard of indicators for a rapid, visual assessment of company performance. They can be used to clearly communicate business objectives, allow users to see the progress being made towards their goals and allow managers to remain informed about areas of the business they are responsible for.

Interface with EFACS & MS Office

EFACS E/8 Business Intelligence provides the ability to save a given user configuration to Microsoft Excel. The configuration can be saved for subsequent use by an individual user or if need be supplied as standard for all users. Once saved as an Excel file the configuration may be further modified and enhanced in Excel by the user, to give further sophistication.

Such configurations can be distributed electronically and manually, or automatically with EFACS Workflow or EFACS Business Process Automation.Business Benefits
