Exel supply Linux and Microsoft based Manufacturing ERP through new office in China
Exel Computer Systems plc today announces that it has established a new office in Shanghai to develop its IT business operations in China. The move represents an important step in Exel Computer Systems’ business expansion and confirms the company's presence in one of the world's most important and dynamic markets.
In recent years China has liberalised restrictions on the business activities of foreign companies operating in China, which has led to an acceleration of foreign investment. Both Chinese companies and foreign companies are investing and contributing to a growth rate in excess of 10% per annum in the manufacturing sector. With this high growth, there is growing demand for Information Technology to assist in the efficient operation of these manufacturing companies. Exel will supply their EFACS ERP product to small and medium sized companies with from 20 to 1000 employees. This is the same customer profile that Exel have in their successful and established UK business.
Exel Computer Systems are a leading UK software development company who specialise in ERP systems for manufacturing companies. Their EFACS product is in use by several hundred customers mostly in the UK, and in many companies outside the UK. The EFACS product began its life in 1985 and has recently been extensively redeveloped to comply with the latest standards in software technology including its conversion to the Java platform.
In the first instance EFACS ERP will be available in China on a choice of two platforms (1) Linux operating system with IBM DB2 database and (2) Microsoft Windows 2003 Server operating system with SQL Server database.
Exel’s Shanghai office opened for business in August 2004. The office will provide a sales and support service to both end-user companies and to software distributors having the expertise to effectively install ERP systems.
