Amscreen invest in the EFACS E/8 ERP solution from Exel

Exel Computer Systems plc, a leading UK software author of business management solutions, has announced a major business win with Amscreen, Europe's largest, and fastest growing provider of digital media advertising screens.

Amscreen, Chaired by Lord Sugar, was created through the purchase of Comtech M2M in 2008. Comtech M2M had previously developed a scalable and robust platform for remotely monitoring and using any machine using the Internet, this evolved to delivering wireless digital signage solutions.

The wealth of expertise in technology and low cost manufacture gained from Lord Sugar's Amstrad business, plus the acquisition of Digicom, a leading ‘out of home' advertising media sales company, has enabled Amscreen to wrap up the complete digital advertising solution; encompassing technology development, affordable network deployment and advertising sales to brands and specialist media agencies.

Amscreen's products and the EFACS E/8 ERP solution provided by Exel do share a common theme, they are both fully integrated ‘end-to-end' solutions, this provides the benefit to the end-user of only having to deal with a single vendor – A huge benefit to Amscreen's and Exel's clients.

Amscreen will be utilising both major functions of the EFACS E/8 ERP system, this will allow for the management of their manufacturing process as well as the management of their installation/field service teams. An inherent part of the EFACS E/8 system is the ease with which users and management can extract the required data, be they on-site or connecting remotely; all of which will provide Amscreen the tools they require to provide the best level of service to their clients whilst providing maximum visibility to management.

The EFACS E/8 solution provides modern functionality to enable businesses to better manage all aspects of their supply chain and production planning process. Written as part of the EFACS E/8 system the field service element, known as Eagle Field Service, provides functionality to improve the scheduling of engineers and jobs utilising Eagle's Assisted Scheduling module, which aids the operator to make the right engineer scheduling decision first time, every time.

Rue Dilhe, Managing Director of Exel commented on the business win. "The EFACS E/8 solution allows our customers to embrace new mobile and tablet technologies in a rapidly evolving market without the need for costly redevelopment and associated delays, thereby future-proofing their investment." He continues, "Because of the advanced mobile computing infrastructure of the product the devices are also able to work whilst off-line. Information is seamlessly synchronised with the back-office server when the device is back on-line."
