Lean Manufacturing & Real-Time Visibility
It is no surprise that EFACS is such a good fit for a sector in which the tools of manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement, such as Lean, Kanban and Just in Time (JIT) were first developed.
EFACS helps automotive manufacturers respond quickly to changes in demand, reduce waste and maximise efficiency through:
- Real-time shop floor data collection with barcoding and RFID
- Advanced production capacity planning and smoothing
- Pull strategy, inventory and purchasing processes
- Vendor-managed inventory and consignment stock
- Lean manufacturing workflows and JIT processes
With a responsive browser-based interface and mobile deployment, EFACS enables real-time insights into material consumption, production status and workflow bottlenecks, ensuring smoother operations and minimal delays.
Every Step of the Way
End-to-End Traceability & Quality Control
EFACS provides built-in tools to meet the automotive industry’s stringent traceability, quality and lifecycle management requirements.
- Full product lifecycle control through Engineering Change Controls (ECN)
- Serial number and batch traceability to meet industry compliance and quality standards
- Integrated quality assurance and quarantine procedures for robust manufacturing control
- Version-controlled document management to manage product data efficiently
- CAD/CAM integration with bills of material for precise engineering change management
By combining supply chain, production, inventory and quality functions in a single ERP platform, EFACS ensures that every stage, from design to delivery, is connected, auditable and optimised.
Client Case Study
Linecross
From humble origins in 1968, Linecross has grown to become a full service supplier of innovative, high quality engineered polymer solutions. Working in a diverse range of international industries including automotive, transportation, off-highway, leisure and speciality markets; Linecross has come to be trusted by some of the world’s leading quality brands. When its aging business management systems became a potential risk and constraint to future growth, the company looked for a modern, future-proof solution from a like-minded, long term business partner.
“It was obvious from the outset that Exel not only was a similar size to ourselves but also shared many of the same values. It was as passionate about its own products as we are to ours, understood our business and was committed to developing its products on a long term basis.” David Austin, Finance Director.

Contact UsAutomotive ERP Frequently Asked Questions
Does it have full traceability?
It does, for traceable or serialised parts a unique traceable batch is created for every receipt into stores. Every issue must also explicitly refer to a batch number, thereby providing complete forward and backward traceability.
Does it support JIT (Just in Time) and JIS (Just in Sequence) production?
Yes, it caters for both of those scenarios. For companies operating Kanban and JIT (Just In Time) working practices, facilities are provided to fast-track orders through the system. The quantity in a Kanban may be defined for each part. Shop orders may be progressed in terms of the number of Kanbans completed.
Does it integrate with CAD/CAM systems?
Yes, we already have links to the most popular CAD/CAM packages and, if needed, can create links to more obscure ones if we don’t have them already. Bills of Materials can be automatically generated from the CAD/CAM files, improving efficiency and accuracy.
